David Vincenti

David Vincenti is a father, husband, poet, engineer, accordionist, and baseball fan who believes it is possible to root for the Mets without hating the Yankees. David’s poems have appeared in the Paterson Literary Review, Edison Literary Review, and The Journal of New Jersey Poets, and have been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. His first chapbook, To the Ones Who Must Be Loved, was released in 2010.
In addition to his own writings, David led writing workshops in New Jersey grammar schools, including an Introduction to Poetry workshop using lively group and individual exercises to generate excitement about poetry in students through Grade 8. Additional workshops linking poetry with other areas of study and art (Poetry and Science, Poetry and Pictures) for all students are available, and workshops can be developed to complement any curriculum need.
An alumnus of Stevens Institute of Technology with degrees in Materials Engineering and Technology Management, David serves his alma mater and the DeBaun Center for the Performing Arts, where he curates and cohosts the Spoken Word Series. David has received the Robert Reed Service Award in his contributions to arts on campus and in the northern NJ community. Additionally, David has presented to students and professionals on subjects ranging from interview skills to business practices to project management. David supports his poetry and family habits as a technologist and R&D leader in the medical device industry, and has launched healthcare products ranging from drug delivery devices to protein-purifying ultracentrifuges to diabetes management systems.
A native of New York City, David has traded in his Ozone Park accent in an attempt to blend into northern New Jersey, where his family has made it clear they intend to stay.
